Nupur Tomar is one of Australia’s most renowned Indian-Australian figures in the built environment—a visionary force who has redefined the language of spatial thinking and the art of shaping the built form. As the founder of Vaastu Atelier – Luxury Design Studio, a Melbourne-based boutique planning and design studio, Nupur has crafted a legacy of bold, fluid masterpieces that defy convention, challenge orthodoxy, and reshape the relationship between space, structure, and the human spirit.

Her portfolio spans over 300 custom projects across Australia, including high-end French Provincial mansions, contemporary luxury homes, childcare and medical centres, boutique apartment buildings, and mixed-use commercial developments. Each project reflects her radical yet refined philosophy: one that merges elegance with innovation, clarity with complexity, and geometry with grace.
Educated at the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Roorkee)—where she earned a historic seven gold medals—Nupur continued her academic journey with a Master of Planning & Design from The University of Melbourne, funded by the prestigious IPRS + MIRS scholarship. Her research across ten European countries and scholarly presentations in the United States signalled the emergence of a singular creative voice—one unafraid to question norms or rewrite them entirely.
After honing her craft at several award-winning firms in Melbourne, Nupur founded Vaastu Atelier in 2009. Since then, the studio has grown into a nationally recognised practice known for projects that blur the lines between art, engineering, and spatial innovation. Rejecting the rigidity of traditional form, her work celebrates fluidity, fragmentation, and futuristic spatial narratives, and she is registered with the Building and Plumbing Commission as a Building Designer (Architectural). Often described as “improbable,” her visions come to life through fearless execution and extraordinary attention to detail.

As Co-Founder and Director of Vaastu Atelier – Luxury Design Studio, Vipul Patel leads the firm’s property development strategy and project delivery across Australia. With over 18 years of industry experience, he oversees the entire development lifecycle—from site acquisition and feasibility analysis through to project execution, construction oversight, and long-term asset value creation.
Holding a Master of Engineering from The University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Engineering from Bangalore University, Vipul combines strong technical expertise with strategic business insight. His analytical approach to feasibility studies, financial modelling, and urban planning assessments ensures every project is aligned with market demand while delivering sustainable investment outcomes.
Vipul plays a central role in identifying and securing high-potential development sites, transforming complex financial and planning data into clear, actionable strategies. His leadership has contributed to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio including luxury homes, boutique apartment developments, childcare centres, medical facilities, townhouses, and mixed-use projects.
Beyond development strategy, Vipul directs consultant coordination, regulatory approvals, project timelines, and quality assurance, ensuring that every project is delivered efficiently, responsibly, and to the highest standards.
