Town House is a type of Terraced Housing. This term was earlier used to refer to the city mansions of the nobles. Townhouses appear just like Terraced Houses on the exterior but they have certain differences.
Townhouses are often confused with apartments. Although, they are different. Townhouses are individually owned properties and they have their own main doors and walkways. The patch of land that sets up a townhouse is individually owned unlike condos. Although these days rental townhouses are also popular. Townhouses with multiple levels are often referred to as “Stacked Townhouses”.

While building a townhouse you must keep certain points in your mind. It’s very important to check the location. While those around city centers will cost you an arm and a leg, it’s always beneficial to look around for land blocks in developing areas. Townhouses built in exterior remote location will not just make it difficult for you to access outside market but the returns on investment will also be significantly lower.
Townhouses bigger in size are generally owned by wealthy as they cost a lot. It’s no harm to add pools and yards in townhouses. Generally, townhouses are developed for communities and with a lot of people living, it’s expected from the developer to provide a common pool, proper parking space, individual yards and other public amenities.
Before building a townhouse, the soil quality, sloping of the block etc should be checked and tested to determine if the area is flood prone or bush fire prone.
